Title

Cornstarch and Music

Problem Scenario

Broad Question

Does music affect Cornstarch?

Specific Question

Do different genres of music (i.e rock, pop, country) affect the displacement and/or properties of cornstarch when mixed with water?

Hypothesis

I think that it will cause an effect with heavier genres and ones with lower bass or beats because of higher decibels.

Results

Cornstarch mixed with water creates a very weird substance that when left alone, retains a solid form however when brought into contact with a new object such as a hand, it takes on a liquid form and retains back to a solid in a minute or so. Playing different genres of music over loudspeakers at the same volume level had no effect on this substance whatsoever.

Conclusion

Cornstarch mixed with water is not affected by any type of music.
